(at least not until my sis's wedding album is ready  btw, she got married on 4th day of raya)

this is my 1st time celebrating Aidilfitri at in-laws..
walaupun saya ni secara naturalnye rajins membantu buat low-level kitchen chores seperti membasuh pinggan, kupas kulit bawang, isi kuih raya dlm bekas, buat air teh O panas, but this raya i learn some new chores like mengacau rendang ayam/daging and errr.. alamak tu je ke knowledge baru
still dunno how to buat air bandung coz Along buat semua
biasenye kat umah KT, kami curik je lauk from my aunty utk makan 1st day raya
and the 2nd or 3rd day, my mom usually catered from her many connections and gang surau/ngaji/tajwid/etc
so this year mmg tahap kerja keras & sungguh rajin skali.. (pet myself at the back..  )
nway, i had a lot of fun, albeit during open house on 2nd day raya, i was a bit overwhelmed sbb ramai giler guest & worst is i dont know most of the family members & i think by now, i have forgotten quite a few names/faces..
on the open house day itself, mak/ayah arranged doa selamat/kesyukuran bcoz hubby-san gOT transferred to work in UK & myself to continue studying here,
(altho at this time, both of us were susah hati abt future in Bristol sebenarnye sbb visa x settle2)
iklan: advise to those out there yg nak apply UK Visa, the process has become so much more complicated now..
when we did ours, it took 10 working days (more like 3 wks bcoz deepavali & raya)
but we checked the website & its now 20 working days bcoz they have revamped the whole process to PBS (point-based system)
eh back to original topic.. we also went to gic-san aunty's house for open house malam raya 1st tu..
and siap ada takbir raya from house-to-house lagi mase malam raya.. (my 1st time experiencing this)..
the neighbors kids join the takbir raya & kutip gula2 smpi penuh poket, so adorable
we didnt really go rumah2 saudara mara this year bcoz only stayed in malacca until 2nd day of raya. after all, we met most family during open house.
pagi2 3rd day raya, we drove all the way from malacca to KT..mak & ayah join skali to attend my sis's wedding (plan asal nak leave malacca at 6am hanyelah hangat2 tahi ayam shj, coz we ended ep departing at 8.30am.. not bad actually considering everyone is super-tired from last night's open house that ended at 2am! the last visitors being gic-san A-Team/panjat gunung menyiksa diri frens )
KT: 2nd Oct - 5th Oct
reached KT at 3.30pm.. checked in mak&ayah in Permai Inn, then balik umah my parents yg dah siap khemah sungguh meriah
oh n our neighbor daughter is having her wedding on that day itself, so sungguh glamer lalu tgh2 khemah org..
sampai2 je terus panic2 makan, n siapkan hantaran my sis & hiasan tangga & bunga paha etc..
ard after isyak, is the akad nikah ceremony.. kesian family hafifi (wahida's new hubby) bcoz the traffic was really bad from ipoh
so they ended up, from the journey, masuk umah tukar baju x sempat mandi, terus came to our house for akad nikah sbb imam dah lama tunggu..
nasib baik imam yg akad tu attended our house last.. he had 3 weddings before that..
oh did i mention i was the pengapit, bertuah betul budak2 ni, i yg dah kawen ni plak jadi pengapit..huhu
nway the event went great & everyone's is happy.. thank God!
mak & ayah did sooooo much shopping in pasar payang smpi penuh boot kereta
i had to leave on 6th oct bcoz my youngest sis who's studying in UM start her classes then.. the rest of my siblings went back KL the day after
gic-san drive to malacca with his parents & myself drive another car to UM/Klang
the traffic from karak all the way to genting sempah is giler teruk.. took me 4hrs to get through the traffic.. giler stress smpi nangis2 lagi (over )
i even made a stop kat tepi jalan mane ntah for 10min just to pull myself together..
remind me whatever happen in future, to force Nadiah to ponteng UM 1 day (if she hasnt finish school yet in 3/4 yrs nway..hehe)
(oh i just realized xde lgsg gmbr related to raya in tganu coz its all abt wedding. so that will be in our future post okie)
over the weekend, my merpatis gang suggested to have farewell makan2 since im leaving in a few days
but since fatin & family had open house on that weekend, so we crashed at her house, dok punye lama sebab zaf sesat.. haha
dapat makan free yg sungguh sedap skali.. (alaaa i hate talking abt good food, padan muka skrg dah crave Msian food. nak masak sendiri=x reti/malas!)
some pics from the airport the day i leave to brsitol.. sungguh sedih & boring skali fly sorg2, coz gic-san nye visa x settle lagi time tu but i need to register to UoB (in fact was already 3 wks late as it is)
wow, i must be really bored to be writing such a long event description for an OUTDATED event plak tu.. huhu..

This is indeed another VERY LATE update
Joined Ericsson on Mar 2007 and left in Jun 2008... so that's 1 year & 3 mths..
workplace's really great, cool colleagues, the pay is not bad either but i guess it was the job itself that I had trouble adapting with....huhu
Anyways, I would like to take this opportunity again to thank beloved colleagues for the friendship and great time we had working together..
Learnt a lot of valuable knowledge & u guys are the best to work/hang out with
hope everything's going great over there now & more greatness to come..
kalau ada makan2 event, ingat2 la org di sini.. hehehe
now that I'm in UKM, I discover that there's a huge difference between academia & industry.. have so much to learn & catch up!!
those who think that lecturing is easy, well think again coz its SO NOT!
but u'll love the abundance of opportunity to give
of course b4 that kena finish studies dulu la kan..

3. i took a day off from work. and honey-chan only had 1 morning class at 9.

1. See the tower far end down the road? that is the University of Bristol's Wills Memorial Building - a familiar landmark at the top of Park Street. sekolah honey-chan is next to the tower 5 mins walk from home.
2. The famous Bansky graffiti right in front of our apartment. Naked Man image by Banksy, on the wall in Park Street, Bristol. Following popular support, the City Council have decided it will be allowed to remain.
3. The Council House, the seat of local government. Situated next to our apartment.
4. Bristol Cathedral. Situated next to the Council House.

1. after safely landed in miri airport from Mulu National park, we spend few hours in tmiri city center before return to kl.
2. alhamdulillah, the weather is good [ shiny sunny lallalaaa ] so we manage to get some pix while we're there
1. while waiting for the Bat exodus @ Deer Cave entrance.
2. Miri City Fan square.
3. The Chinese Garden @ Miri City Fan depicts Chinese traditional and cultural heritage: Chinese gazebos, willow trees, the Koi n the ponds with a Chinese overhead bridge, and an interesting Chinese arch.
4. Miri Tower.
5. the MasWings Fokker from Mulu airport to Miri.
6. The Grand Old Lady. It is the first Oil Well in Malaysia, located on Miri Canada Hill, overlooking the town.
7. Miri Taman Bunga Taman Bunga can intrigue you with the variety of plants numbering up to 300 species. More than 30,000 plants are grown here.
8. 3D artwork @ Grand old Lady.
9. Pustaka Miri opened in 2002, is the regional library of Pustaka Negeri Sarawak.
10. Miri Handicraft center - overflowing with the products of nimble fingers: beadwork, pottery, woodcarving, basketry, mat making, hat making and textile crafts.
11.The man-size replica of “oilmen” at work @ the Grand Old Lady.
12. The formal Garden @ Miri City Fan features a classical water fountain in the centre. Set in a geometrically patterned pavement with well-clipped hedges it provides an exercise area for the active.
13. The Islamic Garden @ the Miri City Fan epitomizes Islamic architecture, featuring fountains, arches, Islamic open work motifs and symbols.

1. since the day we planned for our 1st honeymoon, honey-chan keep on saying she longed for cave exploration but never had a chance to experience one.
2. i still remember when we're in bali, she was soooo excited when the guide told us we'll be going to the Elephant Cave but turn out to be a major dissapointment when the cave is extremely small hoho.
3. so when air asia launched the rm0.05 ticket promotion ticket to Miri back in February, we straight away book it!
4. actually i've been here with my outdoor club - Adventure Team back in 2003.
5. I join several caving activities before this and I think and this place has the best caves by far compared to others.
6. Did u know that United Nations Educational, Scientific & Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has listed Mulu as a a World Heritage site in November 2000 [ just like Malacca and Penang as well, but they've received the acknowledgement 8 years ago! ].
7. Considering Mulu’s spectacular scenery and its biological significance, it was not surprising that Mulu was successfully listed.
8. People from around the world visited this place each year, haaa kalu kita Malaysian pun x sampai, isk isk isk.. shame on us
Tips
1. there are 2 types of accomodation available. the affordable rooms are located in the Mulu National Park itself & the luxury rooms are at Royal Mulu Park.
2. The Mulu National Park had a limited rooms available - so book as early as u can. We book this August trip back in February and at that time, they already running out of room.
3. Torch light / head lamp is a must.
4. Covered-non-slippery shoe + easily dry [ e.g. Crocs sandal ] would be handy as most of the caves are damp and sometimes wet.
5. Beginner, intermediate and advance types of caving here - u can choose which level u prefer.
6. For those who also like mountain hiking, u can try to climb the Pinnacles in Mount Api and the Mount Mulu peak itself [ note: verrryyyyyy tough and u need to be super fit for this. I climbed the Pinnacles back in 2003 - the view worth every sweat ]
7. Always and always check the weather forecast + monthly rain tabulation + raining monsoon when u plan ur trip. U dont wanna mess with mother nature when u're doing outdoor stuff

7. Wind + Clearwater caves are the biggest cave in the world where the river roaring beneath your feet has travelled its subterranean route for over 108 km.
8. The Mulu Canopy Skywalk at 480 metres is the longest tree-based walkway in the World. As you walk among the ferns and vines 15 – 25 metres above the forest floor and river you will enjoy this unique opportunity to get closer to the rainforest ‘web of life’
